Era look 40's

So, we all know the Marilyn Monroe look...right?

Once you get a hang of these few simple pointers, this is a look that will never get old!

• The base of your make-up should be almost exactly the same as your skin tone, 40's make-up was about waxy, flawless bases. Almost doll-like!
• Eye make-up sounds very simple, but doing gel eye liner flicks can take a while to get the hang of! Simply sweep the jet black gel eye liner across your lash line, leaving a little flick at the end. The idea was to create the look of thicker lashes. Once this is done, brush a light beige colour all over the lid and then define the socket line with a light brown colour. Brush your mascara wand upwards and outwards.
• The brows should be very defined and arched the compliment the eyes.
• The lips- Well we all know what colour they are going to be!! Bright vibrant red! Always use a lip liner and colour the lips in before you apply lipstick, this will prevent lipstick from bleeding and fading. Marilyn Monroe's make-up artist Allan "Whitey" Snyder would spend up to an hour on Marilyn's lips alone!
• What is known as "Cupid's bow" (The "v" shape on the upper lip) was not defined, it was a very smooth curve.
